The BNZ Breakers are New Zealand’s team in the Australian NBL, and they are committed to their fans across the entire nation. They are taking their electrifying brand of basketball on the road for two crucial games in Christchurch and Hamilton.
"We call ourselves the New Zealand Breakers for a reason, and these games are a vital part of that commitment," says BNZ Breakers Chairman Marc Mitchell. "The fans have been hounding us to get these games in their cities. Bringing the historic 700th game to Canterbury, and returning to Hamilton after so long is our way of saying 'thank you' for that amazing support."
For fans in these regions, it’s a rare chance to witness elite NBL action live and connect with a team that carries the country's name on the world stage.
First, the team heads to Christchurch, where the Garden City will host the BNZ Breakers for the 11th time. In a massive matchup against the Adelaide 36ers at Wolfbrook Arena on Thursday, 6 November (7:30 PM), the club will also celebrate its historic 700th game in the NBL.
The milestone match is also a homecoming for Canterbury Rams captain Taylor Britt and fellow Cantab Max Darling. Both were key players on the Rams' back-to-back NZNBL championship teams and are now integral members of the Breakers squad.
"Playing at Wolfbrook Arena is always special for me," says Canterbury's own Taylor Britt. "This city has the most passionate fans in the country. We’ll need every bit of that energy against Adelaide, and I can't wait to represent New Zealand on our home court."
Next, Hamilton gets its first BNZ Breakers game since 2018 when they host the formidable Sydney Kings at Globox Arena on Wednesday, 3 December (7:30 PM). The stakes are even higher as the game doubles as an Ignite Cup clash, an NBL competition where the BNZ Breakers currently hold maximum points.
The long-awaited return to the 'Tron promises a fiery atmosphere, deepened by the storyline of guard Izayah Le'afa facing the Kings team he played for last season. With its mid-week timing, it's the perfect opportunity for an end-of-year office outing and a must-see for fans across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.
For the BNZ Breakers fans of Canterbury and the Waikato, this is your moment. It’s a chance to trade the TV broadcast for the roar of the crowd, bring the noise, and give the Breakers a powerful home-court advantage.
Tickets for both games are available now through tickets.nzbreakers.basketball
