The BNZ Breakers are proud to announce the major signing of dynamic South Sudanese-Australian forward Kouat Noi for the NBL27 season, with a mutual option to extend his tenure through NBL28.

The versatile 201 cm (6’7”) forward is known for his explosive energy and clinical scoring. He has established himself as one of the most impactful players in the league, highlighted by his NBL25 Best Sixth Man award. Noi’s arrival follows a career-best period where he averaged 11.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game for the reigning champion Sydney Kings.

“I am coming to Auckland to win. Look at the roster we are assembling - we are going to be the most entertaining team to watch. Personally, my mindset is locked in on an MVP-calibre season.” Said Kouat Noi. “I’m ready to fully embrace Aotearoa, I’m hyped to embrace the culture, the fans, and the whānau. Strap on your seatbelts BNZ Breakers fans!”

His presence will further solidify the BNZ Breakers powerhouse roster for the NBL27 season. He adds a veteran presence and understands what it takes to win championships. Noi recently secured his second NBL title with the Sydney Kings, having previously won with the Kings in NBL23.

"Kouat is a proven winner who brings an incredible level of intensity and flair to the court," says Dillon Boucher, BNZ Breakers President of Basketball Operations. "He has the ability to score the ball in multiple ways and is an elite offensive spark. “

The addition of Noi continues a rapid-fire recruitment phase for the Breakers, who have recently announced the signings of marquee guard DJ Vasiljevic, "young gun" Preston Le Gassick, and an extension for Kiwi star Carlin Davison. Noi is another clinical outside shooter. He shot 39.6% from three-point range in NBL25 and maintained a high-volume perimeter presence.

"Kouat’s championship mindset and team-first approach make him the exact type of player we want." adds Marc Mitchell, Club Chairman and Owner. "He is an athlete who leaves everything on the floor, and we know our fans are going to make him feel at home in New Zealand. "
