The Count’s Corner : Jackson-Cartwright Joins Elite Company
The Count keeps the numbers, and he spies some interesting facts…..
Against Tasmania, guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright became the 10th player in Breakers franchise history to record 100 career steals.
While his total of 100 steals ranks 10th on the all-time list, his efficiency is particularly noteworthy. Jackson-Cartwright's average of 1.7 steals per game (SPG) is second in club history, surpassed only by three-time champion Cedric Jackson (2.1 SPG). This rate is more than double that of the club's all-time steals leader, Tom Abercrombie (0.7 SPG), highlighting PJC's exceptional defensive impact on a per-game basis compared to other franchise stalwarts.
Offensive Milestones and Season Bests
PJC Climbs All-Time Assist Ladder
In the game against Melbourne, Parker Jackson-Cartwright continued his ascent in the club's record books. His 9 assists brought his career total to 379, moving him past Kirk Penney (374) into 9th spot on the Breakers' all-time assists list. This achievement is complemented by his current form, as he leads the entire NBL with an average of 8.7 assists per game this season, solidifying his role as the league's premier playmaker.
Brockington's Scoring Outburst
The matchup against Melbourne also saw a season-best performance from Izaiah Brockington, who scored 25 points. This offensive output represents a significant contribution and a positive indicator of his scoring potential for the team moving forward.
Loe Nears 1,000-Point Milestone
Veteran centre Rob Loe is on the verge of a major career milestone. His 6 points against Melbourne took his career total to 995 points for the Breakers.
He now needs just 5 more points to become the 18th player in the club's history to reach the 1,000-point mark. Critically, he is also set to become the 10th New Zealander to achieve this feat, cementing his legacy as one of the key Kiwi contributors to the franchise.
And The Count will be watching the hoops at Eventfinda… I bet he has some facts about that hallowed hall.
