Biography
The hugely talented big man has worked his way back from a career-threatening injury and now is ready to show what he's fully capable of once more in his first season with the New Zealand Breakers.
At 6'10 and with a powerful frame, an impressive wingspan and explosiveness and timing to be a rim protector, has always been an impressive specimen who can impact the game in a number of ways.
After being born in South Sudan and spending time in Egypt, moved with his family to Sydney when aged seven, before moving to Melbourne and eventually taking up basketball, and ending up at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida to get ready for college.
Spent four years at the University of Louisville starting in 2013 and over four seasons with the Cardinals, averaged 4.8 points and 4.8 rebounds in 114 appearances, before signing a two-way deal with the Charlotte Hornets for the 2017/18 NBA season.
Did make four NBA appearances, but spent most of the season in the G League at the Greensboro Swarm. From there, he played in Italy with Vanoli Cremona, Turkey with Bahçe?ehir Koleji and Cedevita Olimpija.
It was with Olimpija that he suffered a horror injury with both his tibia and fibula broken in his right leg, and it would be almost two years until he played again in the NBL1 South at the Casey Cavaliers.
That led to him playing with the Illawarra Hawks in the 2022/23 season where he showed some good signs before departing for Hapoel Eliat in Israel, but now the 31-year-old is at the Breakers and ready to show he can play big minutes as an imposing big man in the NBL.
