A New Wave Is Breaking
The BNZ Breakers enter a new chapter
Today, we introduce a new brand identity for the BNZ Breakers, setting the tone for a new chapter as preparations for the 2026 NBL season begin.
With new off-court leadership, a new coaching group, new players and a new look, we are focused on creating a stronger connection with our fans and building a future that reflects the energy, pride and potential of basketball in Aotearoa.
Carrying our history forward
Our club has long held a distinctive place in Aotearoa sport. We have beaten the odds, won titles, brought people together and helped grow the game of basketball in New Zealand.
As we move into the season, we carry that legacy with us. On court, our aim is to play with energy, connection and purpose. Beyond the court, we want to bring fans closer to the team, connect to the community and create a club that the next generation can feel a part of.
We are a club in motion, focused on competing with intent, creating experiences fans want to be part of and building a future they can believe in.
Grounded in Aotearoa
Our new identity is grounded in Aotearoa, reflecting the place we call home and the mindset we bring to the game: powerful, dynamic and always moving forward.
At the heart of our identity is the energy of the moana. Its movement and constant change inspire how we come to life, while reflecting the ocean that surrounds Aotearoa and connects us to the wider world, including across the Tasman to the NBL.
Our colour palette is a nod to Aotearoa’s sporting legacy and landscape. The black sand and cloud white colourways represent possibility and ambition, while blue will appear as a seasonal expression of the moana and its energy.
Our new wordmark and B icons are designed to carry meaning through form. Their bold, flowing shapes create a distinct visual language for the BNZ Breakers, bringing movement, energy and character to the identity.
Every element carries part of our story: a club shaped by our home, connected across oceans and committed to meeting the moment together.
A new wave is breaking. We’re looking forward to what comes next with you.
