Breakers to Reset Following Consecutive Losses

After two straight losses, the New Zealand Breakers are searching for a response according to coach Mody Maor.
For the second time this season, the Sydney Kings entered New Zealand and defeated the Breakers, this time recording an 88-81 win on Thursday night.
Maor was a man of minimal words in response to the loss, simply saying they need to fix their mistakes, especially coming into the busiest part of the season with majority of games being played over the festive season.
“When we make a mistake, own it, fix it, and move on,” Maor said.
“As after every game after we win or after we lose, I’m always process focused. I’m not frustrated or angry.
“I’m not happy with the way we responded in the first half, I expected a different response from us as a group.
“In order to compete on the floor in the way we want to, you need to find the perfect balance between intensity and freedom, we found it and then we lost. We need to find that balance of equilibrium back.”
Breakers forward Tom Vodanovich was disappointed with their performance at home and is hoping they turn things around.
“It’s frustrating when we can’t play the way we’ve worked on and proven that we can play like that. We let it slide in the first half, we just let them get whatever looks they wanted, we weren’t playing defence,” Vodanovich said.
“We’re a good defensive team when we choose to play like that. Point of contact we weren’t pressuring the ball at times.”
The Breakers next play the Perth Wildcats in round 11, where they’ll be out for revenge after losing to the Wildcats 92-84 last weekend.
