The CodeSports NBL Blitz employs a unique scoring system that rewards both winning and quarter-by-quarter performance, with teams earning 3 points for a game win, 1 point for each quarter won, and 0.5 points for a drawn quarter. This system emphasises consistency and a high level of play throughout the entire game, and the BNZ Breakers' ability to accumulate 13 points across all metrics was key to their success.
President of Basketball Operations Dillon Bouchers, “We thank Canberra and their fantastic fans who came out to support the tournament. The atmosphere was incredible, and the support from the local community was greatly appreciated by all the teams.”
The team will return from the CodeSports Blitz for a week of continued pre-season preparation in New Zealand, before embarking on a two-game tour to Japan, including playing against former BNZ Breakers coach Mody Maor and former player and coach Paul Henare at their Nagasaki Velca club.
With the Loggins-Bruton Cup secured, the BNZ Breakers are focused on the start of the regular season. Tickets are now on sale for the team's first home game at Spark Arena on Friday, 19 September, against the Brisbane Bullets.
