The BNZ Breakers put up a strong fight against the Utah Jazz, falling 116-87 against the NBA side in Salt Lake City on Saturday (NZT).

Despite the challenge, the Breakers showed resilience and flashes of brilliance, matching up well early and going goal-for-goal with the Jazz for most of the first half.

The Jazz, powered by Lauri Markkanen’s 13 points and Johnny Juzang’s 19-point burst off the bench, were clinical in their execution shooting 57.9% from the field. Walker Kessler was strong inside with eight points and nine rebounds, helping Utah control the glass and the tempo of the game.

The Breakers, however, refused to roll over. Parker Jackson-Cartwright led the way with 16 points, nine assists and three steals, showcasing his class against high-calibre opposition. Jonah Bolden added 13 points and six rebounds, with Mojave King contributing 11 points off the bench.

The BNZ Breakers now head to Philadelphia where they will go up against the 76ers on Tuesday 8 October at 12pm (NZT). The game will be broadcast on NBL+ and NBA League Pass.
